Getting there

The University of Queensland St Lucia campus is located about 6km from the city centre. If you are arriving in Brisbane via air then there are a number of transport options available for travel between the Airport and the University.

Public transport to UQ St Lucia Campus

Bus: UQ St Lucia campus has two bus stops: Chancellor's Place and UQ Lakes. Both have regular bus routes to the city.

Ferry: UQ St Lucia campus has a CityCat ferry terminal located near the UQ Lakes bus station and Eleanor Schonell Bridge. It is the last stop on the CityCat service.

Fares: Bus and CityCat fares are a flat 50 cent rate. Note that the network is cashless, so you will need to purchase a go card, paper ticket, or a visitor's go explore card. Further information on Brisbane's public transport system and payment options can be found here and general transit information, including journey planning can be found here.

Hawken Village (~10 minute walk).

Toowong Village shopping centre also has many options (~15 minutes by bus).

Note: If you would like an alcoholic beverage with your meal, it is worth checking whether the restaurant you intend to visit is Licenced or Bring Your Own (BYO), which means that you will need to purchase your alcoholic beverage from a bottle shop and take it along to the restaurant. (The restaurant may then apply a “corkage” charge, even though wines are screw capped these days!) You’ll often find a bottle shop close to the restaurant.
