Getting there
The University of Queensland is located in the Brisbane suburb of St Lucia. If you are arriving in Brisbane via air then there are a number of transport options available for travel between the Airport and the University.
- Taxi: a Taxi from the airport to UQ St Lucia Campus will cost approximately $75.
- Train: the Airtrain has stations at both the International and Domestic terminals, and provides services to Brisbane City. From there you will need to catch a connecting bus to the University.
Public transport to UQ St Lucia Campus
The University is located about 6km from the city centre. There are frequent public transport bus and CityCat ferry services operating between the two.
UQ St Lucia campus has two bus stops: Chancellor's Place and UQ Lakes. Convenient bus routes to UQ St Lucia campus are:
- From Brisbane CBD: Route 411, 412.
- From South Bank: Route 66.
- From Toowong: Route 402, 411, 412.
UQ St Lucia campus has a CityCat ferry terminal located near the UQ Lakes bus station and Eleanor Schonell Bridge. It is the last stop on the CityCat service.
Bus and CityCat fares can be paid for with cash on a "per-ride" basis, or you can purchase a prepaid "goCard" for (electronic swipe) use on all public transport services, including Airtrain. The routes described above (1 zone) are $3.55 if using a goCard, or $5.10 for a paper ticket.
